spring training is officially over. it was a productive offseason filled with improvements. now i have 6 or so weeks to fine tune my craft and be ready for the start of training camp in late july. right before leaving the facility on the last day of veteran mini-camp i negotiated a new report weight, 215 lbs, but with a stipulation. I must be 4.5 percent body fat. I can do it but it will be a challenge, making this summer a focused and fun one to look forward too.

too keep from losing my balance i plan on sprinkling in a few mini vacations, the first one being a short trip to costa rica coming up soon. any other vacations will be weekend trips within the states. these next 6 weeks are crucial to my training camp success.

aside from football, i have been steadily embracing my creative side through photography. it has become one of the other activities that consistently puts me in a flow state. its incredible. im going to start posting my photography on here as periodically as possible. i encourage anyone that may read this to find an outlet outside of work that can help you reach your flow. that feeling is unmatched.

Part III

week one of spring training is over. still in denial that I am going into my third year in the NFL. how fast its gone by is unreal, and its been a hell of a ride. nonetheless, there is nothing else I’d rather be doing. the first week had its typical tribulations, body being sore, hand eye coordination being a little off, but I got it right back within that first week. I’m stronger than ever and the people around me notice it. I don’t believe in searching for affirmation but hell when its mentioned a few times I won’t say it doesn’t put a pep in my step.

this time of year is my favorite time of year, other than opening day of the season. a lot of new faces surround me, and more will come with the draft coming up soon, and I embrace the new blood and can’t wait to compete. every day I get an opportunity to show my worth is day I won’t let pass me by. during this time I’m focusing on short term goals, such as weight and speed. come june 16th I will be bigger, faster, and stronger than i’ve ever been, leaving a nice foundation to start year three.
